Using the SC2K Maps



This is probably one of the most useful features of SC2K I've found, yet it's one of the least known. SC2K comes with the ability to view many different map views of your city, including:
  • Population density & rate of growth
  • Crime & Police power
  • Power & Water percentages
  • Pollution
This feature is nice, but it really comes in handy when you use it's built-in City Window Viewer. Simply go into the SC2K Map window (it's on the toolbar) and click on the button in the lower left-hand corner. Voila! You'll see that SC2K has transformed your City Window into the map itself, with colors designating the crime, pollution, or whatever you had selected. This is very useful when pinpointing crime, because you know exactly where to put the police stations. The rate of growth also lets you know the exact areas of a city that are in decline, so you can take appropriate action.
