Highways vs. Pollution

Balal asks...
Do highways cause more traffic and pollution?

Highways' main purpose is to lessen the load on your normal roads, therefore decreasing traffic. The amount of pollution should remain the same because there is roughly the same amount of cars. For this reason, I would say that highways don't cause traffic and pollution - they're designed to lessen them slightly. Extra population and industry is the main cause for more pollution.

I hope this helps!
