Subways

Hunter asks...
How do I build subways?

Subways are one of the trickier things to build in SC2K. They're buried under a menu option, and once you find them you just about need a degree in architecture to build them. Here's how to, in a nutshell, get started.

First, you need to build some subway stations. Do this by clicking on the Railroad button on the toolbar (the one with a little image of a railroad track) and holding it down. Choose "Sub Station" from the menu that pops up. Build a subway station by moving the black square over the map where you want to build it and clicking. Build another in other part of the city in the same way.

Here comes the tricky part. Click on the railroad button again and hold it down, but this time choose the "Subway" option. You will be taken to the underground view of your city, and you will notice that the subway stations you just built are gray boxes underground. Now, you need to build your subway track between the 2. Click on the area next to one of your subway stations, and do your best to drag over to the opposite station. If you can do this OK, great, let go of the mouse button. A section of green tubing will appear. If not, you will have to make your way over in sections, on a longer route. It takes a bit of practice to get it just right, take your time.

An important thing to remember is that subways cost quite a bit of money, so be sure you have plenty of cash in your budget.

I hope this helps!
