SimCity 3000 on TV Dec 15 1998 - 4:08 PM EST
SimCity 3000 made it's first significant showing on TV last weekend, on the ZDTV show Fresh Gear. The segment showed animations of the cars driving through the streets, several great shots of artwork, and examples of all of the zoom levels. Show host Jim Louderback said if you're a fan of the SimCity line "You will love this game." For more info, check out the story on the Fresh Gear homepage.

New BAT Info Dec 4 1998 - 3:37 PM EST
On the Maxis BBS, Suneel Ratan announced the probable file size for the BAT download, and it doesn't seem to be that bad. Here's the message:

"We're currently projecting that the BAT apparently will be about 1.3 megabytes to download, depending on the art resources/texture sets that accompany it. That, at least, is the latest report."

SC3K to be released in February Dec 3 1998 - 8:49 PM EST
In the following post on the Maxis BBS, Maxis' Lucy Bradshaw officially announced the release month of SC3K as February.

I wanted to come on to the message boards to tell you that SimCity 3000 will be released in February 1999. Darren and Suneel will be here at simcity.com to give you more specific information as the release date gets closer. Thanks for your continued support.
This finally quenches fans' thirst for a more certain timeframe, instead of a vague season.

Suneel Ratan has announced on the Maxis BBS that he's looking for new questions to add to the latest edition of the SimCity 3000 FAQ. If you'd like to add your suggestion, click on the "Maxis BBS" link on your left.

SimCity.com Deputy Mayors Nov 11 1998 - 8:00 PM EST
Suneel Ratan announced that the upcoming plans for SimCity.com include something called a Deputy Mayor program. Regular Sim-fans like you and me will be selected to certain positions on SimCity.com: patrolling message boards, hosting chats, etc. Suneel said that chances were there would be no "application" process - Maxis would choose the people themselves and contact them first. When asked when the site was scheduled to be released, Suneel declined comment because the site will be released a few days before the game itself.
