Contest Information You may remember that from May 23, 1997 to September 1, 1997 Downtown SimCity 3000 (then The Unofficial SimGames Page) ran a contest that awarded a free copy of SimCity 3000 to the person who could correctly guess the release date. While the release date is definetely debatable, we've decided to make it February 2nd - the date that it is supposed to be practically everywhere in North America. The big winner is: Nobody! That's right, nobody got the correct date, because nobody (not even me) expected the game to be put off this far. I also have a confession to make: When Lucy Bradshaw in her Allgames.com interview said SimCity 3000 would be out in 1998 definetely, in order to save me space and time later, I filtered out all 1999 guesses so that I wouldn't have to worry about them. That meant that some potentially correct guesses may have been filtered out. I guess the moral of the story is never to trust Maxis ( :-) ), and I profusely apologize if somebody did happen to guess correctly. I hope you understand my logic, but I don't blame you if you don't. To conclude, thanks to everyone who participated and thanks to everyone for your support of DSC3K!
